kids and teenagers came out to experience American Football on Nigerian soil at the one-day camp which was attended by about 40 children between the ages of 4 to 17.
The camp was at the upscale Leisure Sports Park, Ikate Elegushi, Lagos and the event featured experienced American Football coaches as well as cheerleaders from, Shitsuke Flag Football and Lagos Cheer Association.
The Football Commissioner of the League, Coach Bimbola Bankole, a former US marine supervised all coaches to teach the children the basics of the sport while the founder and coordinator of the Lagos Cheerleading Association Lilian Obieze facilitated the cheerleading training.

Before the exercise, the kids were medically screened before participating in the camp just as parents got involved on the sidelines by making placards for their kids and cheering them on.
“There are a lot of Nigerians in the who these kids look up to, the kids that have shown up today have intentions of playing at the college level and professional level, we need to be able to make these options available to them, parents have shown great support for the kids by bringing them out today, Zinovation sports will be having regular clinics to promote the awareness of the sport, ” founder/CEO of Zinovation Sports, Elizabeth Okogun said.
Certificates were given to the children that attended the camp.
Zinovation Sports is a sports initiative focused on promoting the opportunities and benefits of American football and flag football through Leagues, regular clinics and mentoring programs for African youth.
